Day 01. Pick up from Guwahati airport. Overnight

Drive to Guwahati city for check in. Feel the city by night.

Overnight in premier Hotel or similar

Day 02. Visit silk village, Sualkuchi. Dinner cruise

Drive out 30 kms to Sualkuchi (the Manchester of the East) over the Saraighat Bridge,

Experience the production of our famed Assamese silk. Lunch at Sualkuchi and return to Guwahati.

Complete the day with a visit to the local shopping centers.

Day 03. Drive to Silghat to board MV Sukapha. Cruise starts.

Drive 4.5 hrs (185kms) on the national highway to Silghat.

Cruise starts after Embarkation onto MV Sukapha and spend the next 7 nights on this vessel with her bamboo-paneled, air-conditioned rooms

Offers panoramic views of the river.

Day 04 Cruise. Kaziranga Safari.

After early breakfast, drive to Kaziranga’s Central Range for a morning jeep safari. Rich biodiversity hotspot. Draws comparisons to the Serengeti.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kaziranga National Park (KNP) is home to the world’s largest population of the Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros.

Royal Bengal Tigers, Indian elephants, Indian bison, swamp deer, and Capped Langurs.

KNP is also a birding paradise.

Cruise upstream to anchor for the night at Vishnath.

Day 05. Cruise. Visit Vishnath village and temple

Visit an Ahom-period Shiva temple.

Walk through the town before reboarding and setting off again.

Good chance of spotting the endangered Gangetic dolphin, as well as wild elephants.

Anchor at Dhansiri Mukh. Overnight.

Day 06. Cruise. Kaziranga Safari

Jeep safari to Kaziranga’s little-visited Eastern Range, with grasslandsmuch favoured by rhinos where you might also spot the rare Bengal Florican.

Return to the boat and continue our cruise upstream. Overnight.

Day 07. Cruise. Experience rural India

Cruising upstream.

Visit a bankside village, getting an insight into the life of rural Assam.

Overnight.

Day 08. Cruise. Visit the world’s largest river island, Majuli

Anchor at the world’s largest river island, Majuli at breakfast. Majuli represents rural idyll in Assam and the peaceful religion of neo-Vaishnavism.

Visit the island satras (monastries), showcase a unique way of life offering worship through songs and music and readings of the scriptures.

Visit the monastery at Auniati with an eclectic museum.

Attend a dance performance at Kamalabari monastery.

Cruise to Neamati Ghat on the opposite bank. Overnight.

Day 09 Cruise. Visit garden and Sibsagar town

Visit a tea plantation near Jorhat town. Familiarize yourself with processes of tea production.

Drive 70kms to Sibsagar, the one-time capital of the Ahom kings of Assam, who ruled for some 700 years.

The culture and architecture is an amalgam of India and Southeast Asia.

Visit the world’s largest hand-excavated reservoir.

Return to your ship, for a special dinner reception to denote closure to our cruise. Overnight.

Day 10 Cruise ends. Tea bungalow stay in Jorhat

Disembark and check in to a century year old colonial tea bungalow.

Experience the art of tea tasting.

Rest of day on your own. Overnight.

Day 11 Visit Gibbon National Park

An early morning 20km drive out to the Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary, famous for being home to India’s only ape species and the nocturnal primate ,the Bengal slow loris, and five other species of monkeys.*A pack lunch will be in offer.

Rest of the day will be at your disposal.

If time permits, we visit the oldest tea research station in the world at Tocklai in the city environs.

Overnight at resort.

Day 12 Fly out from Jorhat. Tour ends.

Breakfast, checkout and drive to Jorhat airport for your onward flight to Delhi.
