Challenging Treks Meghalaya state’s most famous root bridges, the “double-decker” root bridge, can be found in the vicinity of one of the wettest places on earth — Cherrapunji (also known as Sohra). A 2-hour drive from Shillong gets you here, and there are good trekking tracts too to discover more such bridges.
